Since graduating from the University of Manitoba's Pharmacy program in 2013, Dan has dedicated his career to serving rural and First Nations communities.
He began his journey in Ashern, where he worked for three years before running a satellite pharmacy in Pinaymootang First Nation for four years, collaborating closely with the medical and nursing team to improve healthcare services. In 2022, Dan's path took him to Norway House Cree Nation, where he lived and worked for nearly two years.
Dan is a Certified Diabetes Educator and has specialized training in harm reduction, actively supporting clinics in numerous communities. Dan enjoys being physically active and is an avid sports fan. You can often find him out for a round of golf or cheering on some of his favourite sports teams. He is thrilled to be back in Ashern, providing essential health services to the community and its surrounding areas!
John's journey in pharmacy started with his graduation from the University of Manitoba in 1985. He began his career in Swan River, MB, where he dedicated two and a half years as a staff pharmacist. In 1987, he moved to Ashern and continued his exceptional service for 15 years.
In 2002, John took a significant leap and acquired the pharmacy in town, running it successfully with his wife, April, for 11 years. John has spent the last decade helping his brothers on the family farm in Southwest Manitoba and enjoys cheering on the Winnipeg Jets in his spare time.
Now, John is excited to be back in the pharmacy world and to be working alongside his wife, April, daughter, Cassandra, and son-in-law, Dan. He looks forward to reconnecting with the many community members he has had the pleasure of serving throughout his 26-year career in Ashern!
